Uzbekistan Visa

Uzbekistan Visa has stringent rules

All the foreign nationals who wish to visit Uzbekistan need an Uzbekistan Visa. Even if the duration of the trip is something less than seventy two hours or even if the duration of the stay is stretched over few months, it is necessary to get a visa to enter in the country. There are a few countries whose nationals are not required obtain a visa before entering Uzbekistan. These countries are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia. The citizens of these countries are just required to carry a valid passport with them.

There are different visa procedures for different country nationals. There is a simplified visa procedure for the nationals of countries like Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, Spain and a few more countries. All the tourists apart from an Uzbekistan Visa need visa support from either an Uzbekistan national or from some Travel Agency. The travel Agency though should be authorized by the National Tourism Company called ‘Uzbektourism’. The travel agency or any other calling party has to submit a visa support application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The MFA will then either approve or reject the application. It is only after the approval of MFA that a person can apply for an Uzbekistan Visa.

It takes around ten working days for a visa to get processed. A tourist can get a visa from any of the Consular Missions of Republic of Uzbekistan situated in their country. There are a few countries which do not have such offices or embassies. For nationals of such countries the visa can be obtained after arriving at the airport of Tashkent that is the capitol of Uzbekistan. Such travelers can also obtain an Uzbekistan Visa from some third country.

There are a few documents that must be produced in front of the MFA of Uzbekistan in order to get an Uzbekistan Visa. Knowledge of these documents will help one to prepare properly for filing the visa.

These documents are:

  • Visa support letter or the letter of invitation that has to be sent by the travel agency or a Uzbekistan resident.
  • A valid passport
  • Properly completed application form.
  • Two passport size photographs.
  • The due amount of fees. This has to be paid when a person has to collect the visa.
  • In case the visa has been applied by post then a self addressed envelope must also be provided.
  • Last of all an evidence that would justify the purpose of visit.

Uzbekistan is fast becoming the favorite tourist spot. The country has given a lot of attention to improve the facilities that should be provided to the tourists. Tourists can choose the type of accommodation they want. The accommodation is always the prime concerns of the tourists. A person can live in high end luxurious hotels or can take private homes for rent also. In case a tourist plans to stay in a private apartment then it is solely his or her responsibility to obtain a temporary resident permit within a time period of three days after the arrival in Uzbekistan. It is very important to get one self registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs as well.

There are many other very strict rule that must be kept in mind. For instance a person who is a business visa holder can stay in a private apartment if he has the concerned permission and this permission has to be obtained before entering the country. In case a tourist plans to travel by rail or road there can be a few complications. There are some places where the travelers are forced to exit the countries and enter the neighboring countries, for such a case the tourist must have a multiple entry visa.
