One can apply for a visa at one of the embassy offices of Tajikistan situated in their country. Some countries do not have offices of these embassies; however this certainly does not mean that if a country does not have a Tajikistan embassy office then the citizens of that country can enter Tajikistan without a visa form. The fee of a Tajikistan Visa is around twenty five US dollars which is a very nominal fee. There are sixty nine such countries whose citizens can avail a diplomatic, official, business or tourist Tajikistan Visa on arrival at the Dushanbe airport. Such a visa can though be only for a period of forty five days. These countries include countries like China, Great Britain, USA, Iran, France and Japan to name a few.

For gaining a visa support one has to be invited by someone from Tajikistan. The inviting party can be anybody, an organization, an office, business firm or even a local resident. Any such person needs to submit an invitation letter on the name of the tourist who is being invited at the office of Ministry of Internal Affairs. The total process of the processing of a visa application can take up to fifteen working days. Once this invite has been approved, intimation is sent to the embassy office of that country in which the tourist resides. Then the process of getting a visa starts directly from there. There many checkpoints which have been authorized as entry points for international tourists, therefore it is advised to keep a note of these checkpoints and to enter the country from the specified places only.

There a few formalities that needs to be fulfilled when a person reaches Tajikistan. If the person plans to stay in Tajikistan for more than three days then it is very necessary to get the passport registered with an authorized organization.
