For filing for a Kazakhstan Visa one requires to obtain a letter of invitation from travel agency acting on behalf of MFA. These visa rules do not imply nationals of some particular countries.

There is a detailed procedure that has to be followed in order to obtain a Kazakhstan Visa. To extend the visa support one has to furnish the following information to the MFA. These details include name of the applicant, fathers name, gender, date of birth, passport details, nationality, purpose of visit, and name of the firm and the designation of the present job. After all the details have been verified by MFA the visa is granted. This process may take a time of ten to twelve days. The visas can also be filled with an urgent request. In that case the visa is processed within a time period of four days.

Some people need to land in Kazakhstan while they are on a connecting flight to some other country. In such a case the Kazakhstan Visa can be granted without the letter of invitation. This visa can be granted either by the embassy of Kazakhstan at Almaty or at the airport itself. There are few countries whose nationals can be granted single entry tourist visa without the requirement of an invitation letter. These countries include Australia, Belgium, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Sweden, Japan, New Zealand and many more.

The tourists also need to get themselves registered with the police. Those of the tourists who come through agents need not bother as their travel agents will have to do this job. The tourists who come without an invitation should get themselves registered within five working days. If a tourist has come to Kazakhstan for a time period of less than ninety days then he or she can get themselves registered simply at the Almaty airport. Another formality that needs to be done by every tourist having age more than sixteen years is the filling of the migration card. This card has to be produced at the time a person leaves Kazakhstan. This form need not be filled by those people who have registered their passport with the MFA, who have a visa for residing in Kazakhstan or those who have transit visa for travelling by train going through Kazakhstan.
