Silk Road: Uzbekistan - News and Events
The international conference on Restoration of "Historical Silk Road" (Traceca-98) will be held on 7-8th of September, 1998 in Baku. And during this conference the main agreements on Eurasian corridor Europe- the Caucasus- Asia will be signed.
The Representatives of 30 world's countries and 12 international organizations wished to participate in the international conference "Historical Silk Road" which will be held on 7-8th of September in Baku. In common, the countries of CIA and Europe will be represented by the heads of states and goverments. More than 200 local and foreign journalists have already applied for accreditation in the Organization Committee of the conference.
The chiefs of the delegations will sign an agreement "On transit corridor Europe- the Caucasus- Asia " and also four additional technical documents. The mutual meetings of the heads of states participating on the conference are not considered, but they are not excluded.
All meetings will be held in "Goulistan" palace. The Armenian side announced about theirreadiness to take a part on the conference a few days ago. Armenia will be represented by Prime-Minister.
The meeting of experts of the countries-participants of the project "Traceca" will begin on 4-th September. Connected with this conference unpredictable measures of security will be taken in Baku.
