European glance at the Oriental Architecture

Originality and unique architecture of the Silk Road countries always attracted Europeans. A German architect and journalist Phillip Moizer attempted to state the value of modern trends in architecture and town-planning of this region. Recently, under the aegis of Gete Institute, a presentation of his book "Aesthetics of emptiness" has been held.

The book has more than 100 photos which give an idea of the modern architecture of Tashkent, Astana, Almaty, Aralsk, Bishkek- big cities along the Great Silk Road. As Phillip Moizer pointed out during his speech, he focuses his interest on symbiosis of oriental architecture and modern forms peculiar to the modern architecture of Silk Road cities.
