THE RESOLUTE STEPS OF REVIVAL The Fourth International Meeting of World Tourism Organization (WTO) on The Silk Road held in October, 27-28, 2002 in Bukhara (Uzbekistan). The conception of revival of The Silk Road was offered on the General Assembly of UNO in 1993 in Indonesia. World Tourism Organization worked out a long-term tourist project in development of this concept. WTO jointly with UNESCO held the First International Meeting on the Silk Road in 1994 in Uzbekistan with the purpose of unification of all countries, organizations and individuals interested in the development of the project, and in ancient Samarkand was admitted a real historical Samarkand Declaration by nineteen State-Participants. Were determined the directions of tourism development on the transcontinental arterial road. For the past years WTO has done huge work on realization of introduced project; an international forums, seminars, conferences, trade fairs with participation of the large number of the representatives of tourism-industry were carried out. A large attention was given to marketing strategy, development and progress of tourism on the branches of The Silk Road. The major stages were The Second and The Third International Meetings of WTO, which were held, in April 1997 in Teheran (Iran) and November 1998 in Tbilisi (Georgia). And here - WTO has held the Fourth International Meeting on The Silk Road in ancient Bukhara. It analyzed the accumulated experience in the development and progress of tourism on the Silk Road, and the strategy of the subsequent actions. The Regional Representative of the World Tourist Organization Mr.Luigi Cabrini has noted in his speech, that the fact of realization of a forum in Bukhara indicates that the project of tourism development on The Silk Road, which had begun by WTO in 1994, is successfully put into practice. To the attention of the participants of the Meeting, WTO has presented a research work "Study on Visa Facilitation in the Silk Road Countries". It analyses visa requirements of each country and offers procedures of simplification of formalities on issue a multiply and transit entrance visas, and to form a single visa for The Silk Road. Also was submitted the WTO's research "Assessment of the North American Market for Silk Road Tourism", which discovers the basic characteristics and features of this market and eager to a high level of the tourist charges. WTO has approved and will universally assist in the publishing of a new tourist guidebook "The Silk Roads", prepared by the international company Trailblazer Publications. This guidebook will play the important role in marketing researches and progress of tourism on the branches of the Silk Road. In the program of the Fourth International Meeting, the Coordinator of The Great Silk Road Tour Operators Group had speech about experience of work in this new structure in the sphere of the international tourism. The main point of GSRTOGroup activity is creation and progress a qualitative new tourist product in the world market - multinational through route tours on the Great Silk Road countries. Hi has also offered a creation of the Council of Heads of National Tourism Administrations of the Great Silk Road countries under the aegis of WTO, for intensification of cooperation in the field of tourism on the reviving ancient arterial road. This coordinating organ could promote a creation of special tourist space in region, simplification of crossing procedure of interstate borders for the certain categories of the tourists, liberalization of a visa conditions, edition of the information-perceptive magazine "Tourism on the Silk Road" and realization of many other actions of tourism development in the region. The Heads of National Tourism Administrations of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan already supported the idea about creation of such Council.
