Doctrine of the President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Askar Akaev, "Diplomacy of the Great Silk Road", was promulgated in September 1998. Having given life to historical, commercial and culture significance of the Great Silk Road, having compared it with the bridge that serves as the link between the two world civilizations, Orient Asian and Western European, which had different ways of development, but taken the best things from each other, Akaev greets the revival of the Great Silk Road and associates its renovation with the processes of deepening of intercomunication and globalization of economic life of the world. "Stable and dynamic development of political and commercial and economic relations at present-day phase is impossible without strengthening of friendly, partnership, trustworthy and mutually useful relations between all states of region of the Great Silk Road", - says rightly the President of Kyrgyzstan.
Askar Akaev has formed five political principles of his country, which is on its way of revival of the Great Silk Road and prosperity of the countries, which are connected with this road. This is an equitable partnership, friendship and cooperation; intercommunication; mutual interest; long-term perspective; multivectorness of the international cooperation independence.
No of these principles is at variance with UN statute and its policy. This is a normal view on future day, normal wish to enter honorably into the world communication and to stand there with dignity. Akaev's doctrine emphasizes the establishment of the good-neighbour relations with the closest countries, China, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan.
