The Turkish Embassy in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, has provided $1,500 as its contribution to the establishment of International Cultural Center "Great Silk Route", which is being constructed in the Varzob District.
The main object of the project was in acquainting the population with rich heritage and civilization of countries of the Great Silk Route. The Center is supposed to have 10 national halls: Sogdian, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese Venetian, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Iranian, as well as Kazakh and Turkmen yurts (nomad's tent in Central Asia).
Samples of traditional national clothes, utensils as well as information about traditions and cultural heritage of these peoples will be exhibited in these halls. The Center will be surrounded with Chinese and Venetian Gardens named after Marco Polo. The construction works are carried out with support of the embassies of the United Kingdom, Iran, China, Japan and Turkey in Dushanbe.
