The motor-rally Hamburg-Shanghai along the Great Silk Road organized with the help of the German company Wirtgen International Gmbh has been recently finished. The first stage lay from Hamburg to Tashkent, the second - covered the route Tashkent-Andizhan-Osh-Irkeshtam-Aksu-Korla-Turfan-Urumchi.
The motor-rally was conducted with a view to study the possibilities of practical exploitation of these transport routes, to find out if the routes meet the international standards, to study roadside service offices, the systems of customs procedures, and also to work out practical recommendations for their harmonization between countries-participants of TRASECA project. In such a way, idea of revival of the Great Silk Road, that again is called to be the most important channel of profound international cooperation of various countries of the world in the field of economy, culture, diplomacy, tourism. But now, not the caravan tracks will lie via its branches, and high-speed motor ways, connecting the East and the West, Europe and Asia. Construction of new roads has always been the most important factor of economic prosperity of the countries.
It is intended to connect motor-ways of Europe, Caucasus countries, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Kazakhstan in the unified route in the nearest future. It will lead to the further development of contacts between the countries and peoples, to rapid integration of countries in to the world community, also to the boom of auto travels along the Great Silk Road.
