Khastimam Complex: Barak Khan Madrassah, Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum, Islamic Library with the world-known Qur"an of Caliph Uthman, Friday Mosque; Kukeldash Madrasah, Chorsu bazaar
New Part of the city: Independence square, Alisher Navoi theatre, Amir Temur square etc.

DAY 3

Samarkand

The grandiose capital of the Empire of famous Tamerlane -Amir Temur with the biggest mausoleums, madrassahs and mosques in Central Asia. And finally you have a chance to visit the world famous Registan square!

Full day sightseeing tour of Samarkand:
Guri Emir - Legendary mausoleum of Amir Temur and his family members.

Registan square - World famous complex of 3 Madrassahs and Golden Dome Mosque.

Mosque Bibi Khanum – The biggest mosque ever built in Central Asia as gift Tamerlane's wife to her husband.

Local Siyab bazar - unique place where you can get acquainted with the life of Samarkand people.

Continuing city tour of Samarkand.

Shahi - Zinda necropolis, a holy place and cemetery with mausoleums of Timurid dynasty and a grave of cousin of Prophet Muhamed.   
Observatory of Ulugbek – incredible construction of 15th century for astronomical research. 

19:00 Dinner at national house recognized by UNESCO (one of the oldest houses in Samarkand with ancient decorations that preserved originally) (OPTIONAL)

DAY 4

Samarkand - Shakhrisabz-   Bukhara

09:00 Departure to Shahrisabz.
City tour: Ak-Sarai Palace of Amir Temur, Kuk Gumbaz Mosque, local bazar, Mausoleum of Jahangir, empty mausoleum of Amir Temur.

Lunch at national house, getting acquainted with local Uzbek lifestyle.

Transfer to Bukhara.
Accommodation at hotel.

DAY 5

Bukhara

Ancient and fairy-tale town of Bukhara - the land of magical lamps and Eastern beauties. Ancient Great Silk Road caravans never missed this town - the only oasis around.
Nowadays Bukhara is famous not only for it's superb historical
monuments, but for it's lively trade. ...every traveler finds something
unique in this town

Visit to Ismael Samani mausoleum (9-10 c)-the oldest royal mausoleum in Bukhara, Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum(14 c), Bukhara local bazar.
Visit to Old Bukhara: Poi-Kalon ensemble including Minaret (12c), Mosque (16c), functioning Miri Arab Madrassah(16 c), Amir- Alim-Khan Madrassah (19c)

DAY 6

Bukhara – Olot -Uzbek-Turkmen border - Mary.

Meeting at the border Farab/Alat at ~09.30 (Turkmenistan side of the border). Border passing formalities. Drive ~300km & 5 h/d/d to Mary with en route to stops to see amazing sand dunes of Garagum Desert. En route stop to have short SS of Old Merv (UNESCO). Arrival & accommodation. Lunch & Dinner at local restaurants (if included). O/N in Mary

Note: Passports with 2 colored photos will be required for registration at the CTB in Mary

 

 

DAY 7

Morning flight to Ashgabat.
Departure at 08.20. & Arrival at 09.00 (flight time & costs are subject to be change by Turkmenistan Airlines without prior notification)
Meeting with local driver and English speaking guide.
Check in after 12.00. 
Full Day Sightseeing in Ashgabat inc. City Monuments (Monument & Park of Turkmen Horses, Monument of Earthquake, Gulistan Bazaar, Monument of Lenin, Ertogrul Gazy Mosque, Monument of Independence & etc)

Ashgabat

Full Day SS in/around Ashgabat inc. Turkmenbashy Ruhy Mosque & Mausoleum of Turkmenbashy, Old Nissa (UNESCO), National Museum of History (closed on Tuesdays): entry fees are paid on spot if visited, City Monuments (Health Path, Arch of Neutrality, Monument of Constitution, Alem Culture Center & etc). Lunch & Dinner at local restaurants (if included).
Overnight in Ashgabat.

Geokdepe

Return Drive to Geokdepe

Morning drive ~75km to Geokdepe via Geokdepe Valley of Kopetdag Mountain.
En route stop at International Equestrian Center to familiarize with world famous Turkmen Horses which is known with the name of Akhalteke Horses.

11:00 Arrival. Free time. Lunch time.
Visit Saparmyrat Khadji Mosque built in Geokdepe Fortress where there is a local museum (entry fees are paid on spot if visited) which demonstrates a heroic defense of Geokdepe in January 1881). Return back to Ashgabat directly ~50km. Afternoon free time.
Lunch & Dinner at local restaurants (if included).
Overnight in Ashgabat.

DAY 10

Ashabat – Kunya – Urgench -Dashoguz- Khiva

 

Morning transfer to the Domestic Airport of Ashgabat for flight to Dashoguz. Type of Aircraft Boeing 717-200.  Flight T5-101. Departure at 06.10 & arrival at 07.00. (flight time & costs are subject to be change due to Turkmenistan Airlines).
Upon arrival drive ~115 km & 2 h/d/dto visit: Koneurgench-the capital of Khorezmshahs (III-XVI cc) inscribed into the World Heritage Book of UNESCO.
After SS of Koneurgench drive ~110km & 2 h/d/d to Dashoguz for lunch at local restaurant (if included).
After lunch break drive ~15km to Dashoguz/Shavat Border Pass. Cross into Uzbekistan at ~14.30
Transfer to Khiva (Uzbekistan)


DAY 11

Khiva

This city is an open air museum, like Pompeii and Herculaneum. UNESCO has declared Khiva a city reserve and included Khiva’s oldes part Ichan-kala in its World Heritage List

Visit to the oldest part of the city - Kunya-Ark fortress, including Kurinish Khana (17c); Mohammed-Amin-Khan(19c) Madrassah, Kalta Minor Minaret; Mohammed Rakim Khan  (19 c) Madrassah, Pakhlavan Mahmoud Mausoleum, Mazary Sharif Madrassah, Islam Khodja Madrassah and Minaret, Jami Mosque(18c)
